Another day…

Well, I totally ignored the world today as I continued building the gasifier, and made some decent progress. I just have to connect a fan/extractor type set up and seal the thing, then load it up with wood and make the connection to the generator.

Actually I also need to add some kind of air-mix tube too, so I still have a few bits to do, but if I can find the right fan, I should be able to resolve this in the next couple of days. Then it’s the videos and PDF to finish up.

So… given that, I am as concerned and worried about the International Crime court’s issuing of an arrest warrant for Putin, as Putin himself must be.

In more relevant news, the children now all have animal-based nicknames on how they were when little.

The oldest – Froggie. She was a quiet girl that fell asleep on me like a little frog, regularly, and she certainly likes to jump, to this day.

Second oldest – Monkey. If you have ever had a monkey as a pet (we did, more than once) you’ll know, this is somewhat exhausting.

The Boy – Bull. I mean, he had a few names, as in Hulk Smash (even as a little guy of a few months his favourite thing was the Hulk slap) The little Viking, (he’s as blonde as I and his mom were when little) and T-Rex (he invented this game which is basically chase and scare everyone as a T-Rex) but in reality, he does the whole Bull in a rage thing quite naturally, including snorting and stamping his foot. Plus he is a Taurus. And about as stubborn as a convinced mule.

Girl no. 3 – Piglet. She hasn’t seen a food she doesn’t like yet. She is hilariously funny and now she does little dances to music that I don’t think anyone sane could not laugh at. She waves hands in the air while bopping to the rhythm, spins around. It’s sort of fascinating to watch. I have no idea how she comes up with them. Probably copies her mom when I am not watching.

Girl no. 4 – Turtle. The nice calm land ones, not the psychopaths of lakes and rivers, the water, snappy turtles. She’s so quiet and calm, and really very lovely. Even when upset the little noises she makes as very meek and cute. Sadly, she looks like a mini-me, which I hope will change in due course, and she begins to look like her mother.

Winter is leaving but we still get cold snaps and the wife and I went out to get some wood and ended up traipsing a brief trip through the forest with my chainsaw as she held the light and I cut down a few branches of a dead tree just for tonight. Pretty beat now and the kids are in bed. I’ll try to do a stream in the next few days. Once the gasifier is done and put to bed I will hopefully have slightly less busy days. Except I won’t because it’s pruning time and then it will be wood cutting and forest clearing time for months.

God willing, one of these months I’ll also get back to the range and try out a couple things I been meaning to check on.

That’s my day. What’s yours been like?
